Upper Canada FolkFest makes its debut |

UCFF was first conceived in January 2020 with hopes of mid-summer launch. George Tierney, founding member of the group behind this project, felt there was clearly an appetite for another music festival in Eastern Ontario and our chosen genre of folk music was notably missing. George assembled a team with plenty of experience and the planning began.
Says George, “Once live music was allowed to return to local stages (under strict guidelines) we began to wonder if safely launching our festival this year was still a possibility. It began with selecting the venue and seeing if we had a willing host. With the safety of our guests and performers being the single most important consideration, the Prescott’s Kinsmen Amphitheatre quickly rose to the top of the list. It’s easy to control traffic, separate the performers and seat about 100 people safely in pairs. In short order, the Town of Prescott was on-side”. |
Further to recent provincial COVID restrictions announced September 20, 2020
Please note that UCFF has been authorized by the Leeds Grenville & Lanark District Health Unit to hold our concert, meeting all conditions under new COVID guidelines. We will be following strict COVID regulations.
